Breed Standards

The IOEBA breed standards are a detailed written description of the perfect "type" or "flawless" canine specimen of a certain breed.
A good detailed breed standard is a very effect tool for a breeder. The standard should be used as a written guide and reference to direct their breeding program and assist breeders selection and evaluation of future brood stock that may have an impact on the breed in the future.
The goal of all reputable breeders is to achieve perfection as far as correct type and health.
All IOEBA conformation judges use the IOEBA official breed standards as guides to give themselves a mental picture of breed perfection by which they select future IOEBA champions.
